Moussems and traditional festivals

Moussems, these large popular festivals that celebrate the end of the harvest, commemorate a great saint, or allow tribes from the same locality to meet annually at a trade fair, testify that the festival is an inseparable element of the country’s cultural identity where modernity has not swept away traditions. Among the main meetings, we can mention:

  • Azaouia al Boutchichia Al Kadiria :
    • Mawlid al-Nabi (Commemoration of the Prophet’s Birth)
    • Lailatou Al Kadr (the Night of Destiny, on the 27th of Ramadan)
    • Commemoration of the death of the late His Majesty Hassan II
    • I’tikaf (ritual retreat throughout the month of August)
  • Sidi El Habri: (in August) Aghbal;
  • Ouled Mansour: (in September) Saidia;
  • Moulouya Agricultural Fair: (from January 28 to February 5) Berkane.
