The primary and secondary schools in Berkane provide a general education in accordance with national curricula, covering a wide range of academic disciplines. Higher education institutions such as specialized institutes also offer advanced training programs in various fields, thus promoting access to higher education as well as the job market for students.
Education in the Province of Berkane extends beyond academic skills; it also aims to develop students' social, cultural, and professional competencies. Initiatives are also taken to promote equal opportunities in education, ensuring that all students have access to quality education, regardless of their social background or geographical location, through the expansion of the scope of schools in rural areas.

Furthermore, with the aim of strengthening the ecosystem that has been emerging and evolving over the past few years in Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology, a new school is in the process of being established: the National School of Digital Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics, the first national school in Morocco dedicated to training technicians and engineers. It aims to open its doors in the academic year September 2023-2024.
In conclusion, education in the province of Berkane holds a central place in the region's development, by shaping future citizens and providing them with opportunities for learning and growth. Through the continuous efforts of educational authorities and schools, the province of Berkane strives to create an inclusive, stimulating, and quality educational environment for all learners.
Preschool education
The new educational organization includes preschool education, primary education, middle school education, secondary education, and higher education. This restructuring will be based on common core subjects, progressive specialization, and pathways at all levels. Once the widespread implementation of compulsory education is sufficiently advanced, articulations and groupings will be carried out on both pedagogical and administrative levels. Thus, preschool and primary education will be integrated to form a coherent educational foundation called 'primary education', lasting 8 years, consisting of two cycles: the basic cycle, which will include preschool and the first cycle of primary education, and the intermediate cycle, which will comprise the second cycle of primary education.
Primary Education

Primary school, lasting for six years, is open to children who have completed preschool and, on a transitional basis, to children who have not had preschool education, aged six or older, as well as to students coming from traditional schools, at the level for which they are qualified.

Secondary education
Secondary education begins with a three-year cycle called 'Collège'. After 9 years of basic education (6 years in primary school + 3 in collège), students enter upper secondary education ('Lycée'), which includes a one-year common core curriculum. First-year students choose between several options: humanities, sciences, mathematics, or an original option. Second-year students (1st year preparing for the baccalaureate) take courses in natural sciences, physics, agronomy, technical studies, economics, or follow mathematics tracks A or B and undergo a regional examination.
At the end of secondary school studies (High School), students are required to take a national exam that sanctions their studies in order to obtain the baccalaureate certificate.
